Next Step Community Management

Tasha joins Next Step Community Management with more than 16 years of community association management experience in a variety of property types, including: residential; condominium and commercial. She operated a small management company on the Central Coast and has previously served in executive leadership positions. Tasha has specific expertise in strategic planning for communities.
Tasha holds the specialized designation of CCAM (Certified Community Association Manager – Portfolio Manager) from the California Association of Community Managers, as well as the AMS (Association Management Specialist and the CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) designation from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Tasha serves on a CAI committee and has been a guest speaker at industry events.
Tasha holds a Master’s in Business Management degree with a concentration in organizational behavior and design as well as accounting. She is an adjunct lecturer at Cal State University-Monterey Bay in Business Communication, Business Ethics, and Data Analytics. She is an avid learner and teacher. When not focusing her immense amount of energy on community management, she spends time hiking along the Central Coast and traveling with her family. 


Executive Vice President
Next Step Community Management

Debbie Graffam has joined the Next Step Team as our Executive Vice President and is primarily serving our Southern California region.  Debbie has served as a Property Manager and in the Community Association Industry for a combined 25 years, and has managed residential homes, on-site, portfolio, new development, commercial and co-op condo conversions.  She began her industry tenure as an assistant and quickly worked her way through as a Manager, Community Management Director, Operations Director and Executive Vice President.

Born and raised in the Inland Empire, Debbie has enjoyed watching the area develop from farmland to vast suburban areas.  This area growth has allowed the HOA industry to flourish and assist cities with maintaining the integrity of their surroundings. 

 Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brandman University, which is part of Chapman University.  She has also earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS) and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) credentials from Community Associations Institute (CAI).

 She has many hobbies but when not working, you will find her completing a variety of DIY projects on her home.  She is also an avid hockey fan and spends many nights attending local games during the season.  Debbie also enjoys road trips and will drive anywhere in the United States whenever the opportunity is presented.


Vice President of Operations
Next Step Community Management

With over 20 years’ fiscal and community management experience, Sonia oversees the financial, accounting and administrative affairs for Next Step Community Management.  She has experience in both portfolio and on-site property management for large single-family homes, as well as multi-family condominium, communities.  During her industry tenure, she has worked closely with several developers on new construction properties, from initial groundbreaking, through development and construction, and turnover to the HOA board of directors.

Sonia holds the Certified Community Association Manager (CCAM) designation with California Association of Community Managers.  Prior to entering the HOA industry, Sonia spent five years in the hospitality industry in various hotel management positions.  In her time away from work, Sonia enjoys swimming, traveling, and nurturing her creative side by designing and fashioning clothing.
